Imaginative

I agree with Kiviquespel (lolcoolname). Without a scene to play in my head, this song would make much less sense. But when i read the description i was like: 'Hey.. yeah, of course!' :p
It's very chaotic. Don't really like the guitarey sounding synth though. It's too.. not powerful in my opinion.
Don't really know what to say 'bout the rest of the song. I mean, it's chaotic and fits your description, but that's where this review stops, because i can't think of anything else to say :p
Oh, and it also made me think of an evil clown.
Nice job :)

Evil clown! Yikes! Lol, but yeah, this isn't much of a song, more like an imaginative soundtrack :P Thanks!

Too bad it's incomplete

Because it seems to me that this could be one hell of a song.
Ah well, thanks for sharing :)

blackattackbitch responds:

Thanks man, I just wish I could finish it in its current incarnation. When I do finish it though, it'll be even better than it is now.

So nice, but..

Please, replace that bass drum. It sounds like a click.
Otherwise, you would have received a 10 from me. That clicking bass drum just ruins the experience for me :(

masheenH3ad responds:

Thanks for your keen observation. I will take it into my consideration. ;)

Awesome Awesome

Yes, double awesome!
You get a 9/10 and a 5/5 from me :)

FlamingFirebolt responds:

Woo! Double awesome review.
You get a 10/10!

This is really cool

It took me some time to get into this (20 seconds :p), because i didn't hear what i expected to hear. That's really good, because i like to be surprised :)
What surprised me, were the notes on the piano. They sound.. odd, but fitting :)
And the same counts for the drum beat. It's not what you hear everyday, but it's just.. right.
I love the sound of that buzzy synth that comes in at 00:30 :D
The progression is really nice too and the variety in the drums is very nice. Actually, the variety is nice overall :p
I'd like to hear a G on the end though, instead of a C. But that's just my preference, because the song doesn't feel 'finished' to me.
Anyway, i really like this.
Nice melodies, progression, drums, bass, synths and mixing :)

alternativesolution responds:

Actually, it's not finished at all XD Or else I would've made it longer and more varied and such. I was working on it and then ACK! Power went out. Sad, yes D:
Whenever I get back to this I will surely finish it properly! :D And thanks so much! :DD (I will keep in mind ending on G)

Yeah! :D

Oh man, i love this.
*Dances*
Anyway, this is really nice to listen to. And i have no idea what i should criticize.
So instead of criticizing i will make a little story.
I hope you're ok with that. And if you're not then.. i don't know. I think you'll like it.

There's this funny little guy. Everybody loves him and stuff.
He has a boring job, but because he is so awesome he makes a lot of fun with his colleagues.
Anyway, one day he is pretty down, because his wife said to him that he should start with taking things more seriously. But he doesn't agree. He thinks that making fun is the most important thing in his life.
But he loves his wife and he doesn't want to lose her.
So yeah, the awesome little guy is a bit sad now.
A new day has just begun and he's going to his working now.
He walks down the street, thinking about his wife when suddenly..
Music starts playing. It's this song!
The little guy has never felt this before. He.. must.. move!
He starts dancing to the beat and it doesn't take long before a people join him.
Pretty soon the whole street is dancing! To your song! :D
The song is looped and played over and over again.
Then the little guy notices that he's late for his work and the song stops playing.
He runs and doesn't pay attention when he tries to cross the road.. and gets hit by a car. He dies instantly.
Now, the little guy goes to heaven.
He walks through the gates and.. he hears some music playing!
It's the song again!
He goes to where to music comes from and suddenly he sees a field full of people dancing to the song.

Now, he's dancing into eternity.

PS: The little guy's wife is crushed and never becomes the same person again. Pretty sad. Yeah.
But at least the little guy is dancing, right? :D

FlamingFirebolt responds:

Right? :D Right?.. Right....
oh god what have i done

Really, really good.

Man, you keep improving and improving. This is just.. incredible.
There's always so much going on in your songs, which is a good thing.
But from 02:52.. it gets a bit repetitive. Maybe there are some changes in the melody, but the strings demand the most attention and they are just playing the same over and over again. This wouldn't be an issue for me if the strings stayed in the background and the melody (or other things) changed around to keep the listener (me) interested.
To me it seems like you didn't feel like building on the song more (this would be at 02:52), so you just repeated a section and faded it out. I'm not saying that this correct, but that's just how it seems to me. I was constantly waiting for a change, but there never came a change. It faded out.
So yeah, that section was a bit of a disappointment for me, but that doesn't mean that i think this is a bad song. No, far from it actually.
I think this is song is really good.
Seriously, at first i thought that the guitar was recorded live. When i listened a bit better to the guitar i could tell that it wasn't recorded though. It's (almost?) impossible to create a perfect realistic sounding guitar sound with samples and/or synths, so you did a really good job on making it sound very realistic.
I also really like the sound of the piano and the percussion.
Well, that's all i have to say. I hope it's a bit helpful.
Oh, and even though i have some criticism, this song is still worth a big fat 10.

Much love my friend. Much love indeed. :-)

I wish..

that i was good with Flash, so i could make an epic movie with this song.
But i'm not good with Flash, so yeah.. :(
Anyway, i really love this song man. I tried to find something to criticize, but.. nothing. Oh, and i really like how you build the tension with tremolo violins(?). And those chants.. wow.
Well, there's not really anything left for me to say.
Great work man!

Gravey responds:

Thanks buddy. Glad you enjoyed the tune.

As for the flash thing, this would be awesome to see someone animate the story behind the piece. I hardly think anyone will though. :-P

Thanks again.

I can tell you are just starting

First of all, it wouldn't hurt to learn some music theory. Because the notes sound random and understanding a bit of music theory can really help.
I don't really know what other advice to give you, other than to keep experimenting. Oh, yeah, there isn't really any structure in this song.
If you need any help, just PM me. I have FL Studio 9 too so maybe i can make you some examples or something, i don't know.

Intrapath responds:

Thanks for the review! You are right though, it is quite random, I was experimenting out with FL Studios when I made this. Thanks for your advice with music theory, I learn about that from my guitar teacher at my lessons. The song I have ready to submit next is a bit shorter, but much more structured. :)

This is brilliant!

I really like this. It's so creative, because you didn't just take windows sounds and made a remix of them, but you actually told a little story about starting up your computer.
Asides from all that, it just sounds so good. The piano is perfect and the articulation on the strings is too. Seriously, i love it.
But because this is a review, i'll have to say something constructive too. Well, at the end, the shutdown sound comes a bit abrupt. It really cuts of the song.
Maybe it would've been better if you just finished the song and then played the shutdown sound.
But yeah, that's just a detail. This song is getting a fav. from me and i'm going to check out your other music too :)

Bas3008 responds:

Thanks! :D
Yea, the shutdown comes abrupt, I actually wanted to make the song 2-3 min long, but as I said in the author comment all my project files were deleted ... it's funny that Windows 7 deleted my Windows XP song :D well, so I'm very glad you like it!

I see you..
