Warning: This newspost is about drumming, as you can see in the title. If you don't like / hate drumming, then please don't read this :P
Anyway, about drumming.
I've always liked drumming, but i never really thought of taking lessons or purchasing a drumset. That was in my ''old'' life when i lived in another city. I lived in that city for like, 14 years (i'm 17 now).
When i moved to another city (where i currently live), i made some new friends and one of them was a drummer. Btw, he was a classmate of mine, that's how i got to know him.
One day we had music lessons and we were going to learn to play a basic drum beat. When i started to drum and it just felt... SO good to drum. After that music lesson i decided to take drum lessons, but i didn't really tell anyone about my plans. Some time passed and slowly my enthousiasm drifted away. Until i told my friend, who i mentioned before. He told me that i really should take drum lessons. Now, i have no idea if he reads this, but thanks for that :P
Anyway, i signed in for drum lessons. After i had 3 or 4 lessons i purchased my drumset.
It's not a high quality one or something, but that was ok with me.
When i had my first drum lessons i was really excited and played alot on my drums at home. But, because the things i had to practice were too simple for me, i slowly lost my interest.
I think my drum teacher noticed that and asked me if i wanted to play some real songs, in stead of crappy songs that come with the drumbook. I really wanted to do that and i chose to play the song Bring Down Tomorrow by Di-rect (a Dutch band).
I think i never played so much drums like i did in that week i practiced it.
Since then i never lost my enthousiasm for drums. Of course, some weeks i play the drums more than in other weeks, but i now i play the drums at least half an hour per 2 days.
The reason i wrote this, is that i just played the drums, and i when play the drums i get really hyped up. Like i said; drumming is my drug.
Also, if you get the impression that i think i'm really good at drumming; i'm not. I just started and i'm far from the level that i want to achieve. However, i DO think that i have the talent to achieve that level. All i gotta do is practice practice practice practice and then even more practice. And i mean a LOT of practice.

I used to drum a while ago. For like a year or so. I got bored of lessons and moved on to both Guitar, and after that I played Keyboard. All in all, I think I like drumming the most, and I really want to buy a new drum set. Maby you can tell me where to get some good once?
Anyway, good luck with drumming, and good luck with the blisters. hehe.

Well, i can't really give you advice on where to buy a drumset, since i live in Holland and not in the US :P
But what i did is buying a used one. The one i have is pretty decent, and it only cost me about 350 Euros (that's about 500 Dollars).
But if you want a really good one that is new you'll have to pay a lot more than that :P
And good luck with drumming to you too!
